Job DescriptionKelly Science & Clinical is currently seeking candidates for a Direct Hire R&D Lab Manager / Chemist position at a polymer company in the Northwest Dallas area. The overall responsibility of this role is to supervise a small group (4) of laboratory personnel in the development of new products, manufacturing processes, and test methods and provide technical service to the company’s customers.

Additional Job Responsibilities:

  • \t
  • Manage the product development workflow by overseeing the projects assigned to the R&D Chemists  
    \t
  • Manage Product Development activities ranging from the bench scale to first-run plant capability
    \t
  • Develop QC test methods for the production of new products
    \t
  • Oversee the work performed by 2 R&D Chemists and 2 QC Analysts
    \t
  • Conduct routine physical property testing (tensile, elongation, etc.) as part of new product and process development activities
    \t
  • Develop and/or modify analytical and physical property testing methods
    \t
  • Collaborate with production personnel on scale-up activities and process troubleshooting
    \t
  • Work with the sales team to investigate and solve customer complaints

Job Requirements:


  • \t
  • BS degree in Chemistry or related discipline
    \t
  • Due to the level of this role, PhD candidates will NOT be considered
    \t
  • 2-6 years of industry laboratory experience in product formulation and development
    \t
  • Method development and process troubleshooting experience
    \t
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
    \t
  • Ability to supervise and direct activities of lab personnel
