Job Description

CNC Machinist (Finish Mills) + 2nd or 3rd Shift Pay


Duties and Responsibilities:


Primary Responsibility: Responsible for running finish milling operations on a Finish Mill.
Duties and Responsibilities:


• Perform finish milling, drilling and tapping to final dimensions as specified on the engineering drawings and standard procedures.
• Set up milling machine as required to perform individual finish operations.
• Maintain all oil levels and lubricate machine daily. Inform supervisor of any equipment defects.
• Set correct feeds and speeds as required for milling, drilling and tapping of different types of material.
• Deburr and polish finished product as required.
• Record time accurately for each operation performed using established system.
• Move completed work to proper holding area for disposition following Quality at the Source expectations.
• Maintain neat and clean working area, including the removal and disposal of machined chips from machine base.


Candidate Qualifications:


Minimum Qualifications


Education/Experience:
• High school education with one to three years specialized training in the machining trades.
• Minimum one to three years of specific mill experience is required.


Other Candidate Qualifications:
• Requires the use of shop mathematics together with engineering drawings, specifications, and various types of precision measuring instruments.
• Requires the use of judgement to plan, perform and make decisions as to the sequence of set-ups, operations and processes within the limitations of established or standard methods and procedures.
• Constant alertness and continuous mental and visual attention required to monitor machining process.
