RN Resident - Unit D4
Eligible for recruitment bonus up to $8000 for qualified Graduate Nurses
Unit D4 is a 36-bed cardiovascular step-down unit caring for patients admitted for open heart and vascular surgery. We serve patients with a variety of acute medical, cardiac, vascular and respiratory conditions. We monitor class I telemetry and manage cardiac drips. Specialized training includes CORE EKG classes. We incorporate relationship-based care team nursing model to meet the needs of the patient population.
Our graduate nurse orientation and residency program provides a strong supportive environment with resources and education to meet the individual needs of each new RN. We develop strong, confident nurses who adjust well to independent practice while gaining experience, time management and critical thinking skills.

We have integrated an off-shift charge RN role for added support and soon we will roll out our new and advanced Virtual Connected Care™ Together Team nursing model that integrates experienced telemedicine RN ‘s into care assignments, thus helping with the workload.
Schedules include 8-hour Evening, 8-hour Night (or Rotate 8 E/N), 12-hour D, and 12D/12N Rotation. This team is dedicated to patient care and each other. If your passion is nursing, you'll love working with us

Come join our amazing multidisciplinary team on Unit 2-5, our Acute Adult Care Sepsis Unit Our nurses work closely with the hospitalist physicians to provide safe, competent, and compassionate care for a diversified patient population. This incorporates the assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation of individualized care plans for patients with a variety of medical, cardiac, and respiratory illnesses including sepsis, pneumonia, CHF, COPD, etc.
Responsibilities and specialized training include: direct patient care, cardiac monitoring, arrhythmia interpretation, specialized cardiac medication administration, oxygen therapy, respiratory treatments, prolonged ventilator and tracheostomy care, and wound care.

- Responsible for collaboration, communication & facilitation of optimal provision of care with assistance of computerized &/or digital platform that supports the daily management of care.
- Responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, coordination, monitoring & evaluation of the patient's plan of care from admission to discharge.
- Utilize clinical knowledge, critical thinking skills & the principles of case management & adult education to coordinate, implement & support the plan of care.
- Ensure a seamless, effective, efficient transition of care across the continuum.
- Monitor quality metrics specific to the department & ensure complete & accurate documentation in the patient record.
- Act as 1) mentor; 2) clinician; 3) educator; 4) consultant/collaborator; and 5) navigator.
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- Baccalaureate Degree in the Science of Nursing (BSN) degree from an accredited school of nursing preferred, according to NYS requirements.
- Specialty credentialing & educational degree according to clinical nursing practice specialty area preferred.
- Maintains all licensures and certifications according to NYS regulations and specialty area requirements.
- Participates in continuing education and updates and maintains knowledge and skills related to specific areas of expertise.

Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
