    SCOPE OF POSITION
    The Phlebotomist I shall perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques from patients of all age groups following Ballad Health standard operating procedures. Site dependent, this position's responsibilities may also include the processing of chain of Custody collections, Sweat Chloride Collections, Therapeutic Phlebotomies, Throat and NP specimen collections.
    The Phlebotomist may be assigned to provide phlebotomy with patient care areas outside of the hospital such as regional cancer centers, nursing homes, physician offices, and Community Health Fairs, and to perform related clerical duties as needed. The Phlebotomist may be responsible for the performance of CLIA waived testing as assigned. This individual shall maintain a comprehensive understanding of Ballad Health Patient Safety and Patient Information Security. As requested, the Phlebotomist will participate in the training of new team members. The Phlebotomist is also responsible for additional duties as assigned.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
    Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written, to interact effectively with all patients and their families. Completion of a Phlebotomy Certification Program with an active National Phlebotomy Certification required.
