Ink Technician
Monday – Thursday, 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM
$20-22/hr DOE

CPS Recruitment is working with a well-respected Syracuse area printing company to find an Ink Technician. In this role, you will support the ink department to ensure efficient and uninterrupted press operations. Under the guidance of the Ink Technician Lead, you will be responsible for color matching, ink preparation, and maintaining the highest quality standards in ink production.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and mix inks following specified formulas for production
• Perform color matching and adjustments to achieve desired shades
• Maintain accurate records of ink formulations and usage
• Monitor ink inventory and coordinate with purchasing to reorder supplies as needed
• Conduct routine maintenance and cleaning of ink equipment
• Troubleshoot and resolve ink-related issues during production
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and proper handling of hazardous material.
• Collaborate with press operators and quality control teams on color or ink-related concerns
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
• Perform quality checks on incoming ink supplies
• Manage waste disposal according to environmental regulations and company policies

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in an ink department, preferably in the flexographic and/or digital printing industry
• Strong aptitude for color differentiation
• Extensive knowledge of pressure-sensitive labels, shrink sleeves, flexible packaging, and RFID labels
• Exceptional communication and organizational skills with proficiency in computer applications
• Proven ability to train and instruct coworkers and customers effectively
• Capability to stand for extended periods and perform tasks requiring reaching, twisting, bending, and stretching
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and precise depth perception
