- Provide quality sonographic images in a timely manner.
- Assures a safe and clean environment.
- Maintains knowledge of technical skills.
- Successfully completes ultrasound scans.
- Answers the phone and completes documentation appropriately.
- Collaborates effectively with staff/co-workers.
- Demonstrates age-specific knowledge.
- Perform duties of charge technologist including coordinating inpatient and outpatient schedules
- Adheres to hospital safety standards.
- Perform, follow protocol, and maintain competency for High Level Disinfection procedures.
- Take responsibility for self-development and supports a learning environment.
- Provide age-specific care to patients from neonates through geriatrics.
- Provide mentorship to and/or precept junior staff and students.
- Participates in committees and/or projects as needed.
- Participates in regulatory activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Complies with all policies and standards.
- For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
- Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
- RDMS and/or RVT certified. (Required)
- 1+ years scanning experience in Abdominal, Vascular, Gynecology, and OB/GYN. (Required)
- Knowledge of sterile technique and surgical procedures. (Required proficiency)
- Basic computer knowledge. (Required proficiency)
- Knowledge of various types of ultrasound equipment. (Required proficiency)
- Basic knowledge of oxygen tanks, suction machines and IVAC pumps. (Required proficiency)
- Knowledge of computer stored images. (Required proficiency)
- Knowledge of IDX, PACS, and RIS Systems (Required proficiency)
- Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) and/or Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) (Required) and
- Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required)
