Unit NotesDepartment: Critical CareMust be willing to float to PCUYears of Experience: 2 Years- # of Beds: 32- Nurse/Patient Ratios: ICU 1:2, PCU 1:4, MedSurg 1:5- Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS- Common diagnoses: Heavy cath lab - Coronary angiograms & stenting,peripheral angiograms & stenting, sepsis, neurosurgery, drug & alcoholabuse, COPD, CHF, etc. ICU: occasional IABP, Impella (higher acuity typicallygo to core staff) Occasional peds - go to core staff.- Experience: First time traveler okay. Prefer ICU background, otherwise must have PCU background. Must be able to titrate drips. Must be comfortable taking PCU(1:4) or MedSurg (1:5) patients - there are time that there are no 'ICU' patients onthe floor.- Are RNs required to titrate drips?: Yes
