Job Description

Nestled in the San Pedro River Valley 75 miles southeast of Tucson, Sierra Vista serves as the main commercial, cultural, and recreational hub of Cochise County and offers spectacular mountain views and year-round temperate climate. Outdoor sightseeing and recreational activities are abundant in the area with a variety of state parks, championship golf courses, tennis courts, and over 20 miles of multi-use paths within the city.

This Clinic Coordinator position will be working for Sierra Vista Medical Group. Assists in managing and administering and supervising the back office and clerical services in the assigned clinic.

DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Evaluates, develops, recommends and implements clinic policies and procedures related to the delivery of safe and efficient quality back office and clerical care in the clinic.
  2. Plans and directs the activities of back office and clerical personnel in coordination with Physicians in the clinic and Corporate.
  3. Consults with Clinic Manager concerning administrative issues and problems.
  4. Directs and supervises back office personnel in accordance with clinic, governmental and other regulatory standards under the direction of the physicians in the Clinic.
  5. Responsible for maintaining policy and procedure and maintains of office for State Inspections.
  6. Directs and supervises clerical personnel in accordance with clinic, governmental and other regulatory standards.
  7. Recommends departmental policies and procedure consistent with organizational goals and ambulatory care accreditations standards. Updates and maintains back office and clerical procedural manuals. Updates staff of any changes.
  8. Coordinates departmental schedules regarding the granting of vacations, leaves, etc., in an equitable and consistent manner. Designs work schedules, hours and duty assignments to accommodate the schedules of the Physicians in the Clinic. Assesses staffing patterns and recommends changes.
  9. Reviews and approves back office and clerical personnel payroll, timecards and overtime.
  10. Performs annual personnel evaluations and recommends appropriate salary increases.
  11. Maintains departmental communications by holding department meetings and responding to written and/or verbal question and concerns in a timely manner.
  12. Responsible for the coordination and implementation of interviewing, hiring, orienting, training, evaluating, disciplining and terminating clinic back office and clerical clinic employees.
  13. Perform monthly QA
  14. Annually train on OSHA
  15. Monitor staff and physicians for CPR, ACLS, and TB etc.
  16. Monitor ordering of medical and office supplies.
  17. Oversee, delegate and resolve tasks and billing issues
  18. Insure all charges are turned submitted in a timely manner

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to bend, squat and lift up to 50 lbs. May require standing for long periods of time.
