Essential Functions
  • Performs all aspects of echocardiography exam without medical supervision.
  • Performs administrative tasks to contribute to the successful operation of the department.
  • Follows established guidelines for cleaning, storing & disinfecting equipment per Manufacturer, ODH, IAC and JCAHO standards.
  • Participates in a learning environment, including continued development and learning of knowledge and skills.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.
  • For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
  • Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.

Education



  • Graduate of an Accredited Program in Cardiovascular Sonography Required

Work Experience



  • 2+ years total clinical experience in echo and at least 6 months pediatric echo Required

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities



  • Ability to use all types of echo machines; basic computer skills; good communication skills Required
  • Must demonstrate independent scanning ability with proficiency Required

Licenses and Certifications



  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) Required 
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Required

Additional Licenses and Certifications



  • RCS Required and
  • Eligible for Pediatric RDCS or RCCS Required
