Animal Research Technician

Kelly Science is seeking an Animal Research Technician to join a leading academic research hospital located in Boston, MA.
Pay: $21/hour
Shift: 7:00am-3:30pm with some weekend work
Employment Type: Temp-to-Hire
Summary:
The Animal Research Technician provides basic husbandry, health surveillance, and compliance monitoring to laboratory animals.
Daily Responsibilities include:
\t- Serve as a member of a research animal care team, which is responsible for daily animal husbandry and welfare checks in the facility.
\t - Perform daily work involving the handling of genetically engineered animal models, animals with immuno-compromised health status, and animals recovering from surgery or other invasive procedures, etc.
\t - Perform daily animal pen/caging sanitization or changing.
\t - Provide compliance monitoring of cage conditions.
\t - Perform Facility Cage and Equipment Wash Operations
\t - Provide Facility Maintenance and Sanitization
\t - Maintain animal rooms so that secondary enclosure is free of infectious agents.
\t - Follow Lean Management principles and participate in continuous improvement projects.
Qualifications:
\t- Associates degree or bachelors degree in veterinary science, biology or related scientific field.
