Department: IMCU | RN

  • # Beds: 22 private beds.
  • Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:5 days and nights.
  • Required Certifications: BLS ACLS
  • Common diagnoses: Cardiac, open heart day 3, cranis, cardiac cath- radial and femoral, watchman, zephyr
valve for COPD, pacemakers, trachs, continuous CPAP, Bipap, chest tubes, CBI. No vents.
  • Experience: Positive attitude. On year of experience. First time traveler okay. ICU experience a plus.
  • Are RNs required to titrate drips?: Yes
  • Common titratable: Cardizem, amiodarone, nitro- for blood pressure only, insulin, heparin.
Dopamine/dobutamine- renal dosing.
  • Charge Nurse: Team Lead during the day- does not take patients. Charge on nights/weekends/holidays. Charge
takes patients.
  • Are there nurse aids on this unit: Yes - 1:10. Blood sugars, vitals, ADLs.
  • RT Equipment: CPAP, BIPAP, HFNC
  • Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit: RNs read tele. They do have a centralized tele tech that helps monitor.
  • Shifts & Scheduling: 5-5. Manager does schedule. Try to accommodate block schedule.
  • Weekend Requirements: Every other.
  • Holiday Requirements: Every other.
  • Is there call or a standby requirement:\tNo
  • Floating Requirements:\tFloat to ICU to take PCU level patients, or to med surg to take a full assignment.
  • Scrub Color: Caribbean scrubs.
  • Unit/Department specific orientation: One 12 hour shift.

Genie Healthcare Job ID #2411666. Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
