Advanced Structural Technologies (AST) is an industry leading manufacturer of forged, flow formed and machined products for the Space, defense, aerospace and automotive markets. As a fully integrated contract manufacturing business, all process steps are completed on site in AST’s 100,000 sq. ft. facility.
AST is looking for a Production Planning person to assist the manufacturing departments. This person should be a self-starter who is able to take control and assume responsibility for achieving tasks successfully and on time.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Create and release production and related work orders for the shop.
- Ensure work order packages are distributed to proper departments.
- Ensure closed work order packages and related information is collected and filed.
- Examine documents to verify completeness and accuracy of data.
- Confer with document originators and engineering liaison personnel to resolve discrepancies and compile required changes to documents.
- Posts changes to computerized or manual control records and manufacturing documents and notify affected departments.
- Prepare reports as necessary.
- Keep track of set-up times, cycle times, and length of time to complete jobs – both forge and spin.
- Create and keep log of problem parts; how it was noticed, how it was corrected, and how to not have issues the next time.
- Update Monthly Plan with current status of job.
PRODUCTION PLANNING REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant work-related experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
- College Degree or Formal Education (APICS, other relevant training) a big plus.
