Harvest Enology Internship

CIRQ Estate is seeking an enterprising individual who is passionate about winemaking to join our team for the 2025 Vintage. We are a premiere estate winery in the heart of the Russian River Valley of Sonoma County producing the highest quality Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
This is a dynamic position that will be fully immersed in the entire winemaking process and is a hands-on opportunity to learn from acclaimed vintners working with some of the best vineyards up and down California. Training will be provided for the operation of a variety of laboratory and cellar equipment, and the candidate is expected to follow instructions, keep records, and communicate clearly.
This is a temporary position with an anticipated start in August and continues through October depending on the season. This position will be both in the cellar and in our wine lab. Exact duties and tasks will change daily depending on the needs of the winemaking team. An ideal candidate should be ready and willing to work long hours 6 days per week, with the flexibility to adapt as the harvest schedule is unpredictable and changes from day to day.
Lab Work: (~25%)ALL\tCollection and preparation of juice and wine samples for analysis
\tSetup and operation of lab equipment
\tOrganization, precision, and the ability to follow instructions exactly and reproduce results is essential
\tUnderstanding of Enology, winemaking, and basic math and chemistry
Cellar Work: (~75%)
\tAccurate measurement of additives
\tAdditions and wine yeast build up and inoculations
\tPump-overs and punch-downs
\tAssisting with grape processing line and pressing
\tDaily cleaning and sanitation
Requirements:
\tThe ideal candidate has recently graduated from a secondary program in Viticulture & Enology (or similar discipline) or is working towards completion.
\tWork experience of 1 full-time harvest in wine cellar or lab.
\tConversational English language skills are required. We have a bilingual cellar, English/Spanish, and Spanish language skills are welcomed, but not required for this role.
\tMust have reliable personal transportation to and from work. The winery is centrally located in the heart of the Russian River Valley in Sonoma County, but it is rural and cannot be reached easily by public transit or bicycle.
\tMust be able to lift 50lbs.
\tThis is an active job that requires you to walk, kneel, bend, and stand for long periods of time.
\tAuthorization to work in the United States or ability to obtain a valid work visa
