Responsibilities

Performing all Respiratory Care procedures in the general and critical care settings.  Oversight and management of all Blood Gas related duties including but not limited to; blood gas machine maintenance/troubleshooting, Respiratory Care staff blood gas training/annual competencies, RT staff direct annual observations, and OR staff direct annual observations.


Qualifications

Job Requirements: 

  • Graduate of an approved Respiratory Care program
  • Current RCP Texas State License
  • Mandatory completion of NBRC Advanced Practitioner (registry) exam
  • Licensed by the Texas Medical Board as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP)
  • Current BLS certification
  • Current ACLS, PALS and NRP certification
  • Completion of NBRC Advanced Practitioner (registry) exam
  • Current NBRC credentials

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, physical, biological, clinical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution, with at least two years of training and/or experience in nonwaived testing - preferred
