Job Description

What You’ll Do At LIPA The Vice President (VP) of Engineering, is responsible for fulfilling LIPA’s purpose of providing clean, reliable, and affordable electric service for our customers by overseeing LIPA’s Service Provider’s planning, construction, maintenance, and operation of the transmission, substation, property acquisition, system control, and communication systems for LIPA’s T&D system. This VP will also be responsible for the oversight and coordination of all operational technology managed by the Service Provider and for developing artificial intelligence, data analysis, drone technology programs, BI, data integrity, and related processes and methods used to collect, store, and analyze data from business operations. Other Essential Job Functions include:

  • \t
  • Lead LIPA’s work in the engineering of the Transmission and Distribution systems; also including functionally related aspects of System Planning, design for System resiliency, Asset Management, Control and Protection, Telecommunications, Operations Technology, Data Analytics, etc, \t
  • Oversee and provide Capital and Expense Budget process review and authorization \t
  • Provide support for relevant grant applications
What We Need
  • \t
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering. \t
  • Licensed as a Professional Engineer. \t
  • 15 years of professional experience including ten (10) years of experience related to electric utility \t
  • Ten (10) years of management experience \t
  • Five (5) years of executive management experience \t
  • Licensed Engineer
