Responsibilities
- This position is responsible for providing direct patient care in a directed scope of practice under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN), advanced practice registered nurse (APRN), physician assistant (PA), or physician within the Family Medicine Clinic.
- This position provides nursing care to patients in an organized and appropriate manner under the guidance and supervision of a physician or an experienced RN.
- The LVN collaborates and communicates with the interprofessional team of healthcare providers to achieve desired outcomes through coordinated, efficient and compassionate care.
- Clinical competence is demonstrated in provision of care through administering medications, using technology, performing procedures, and advocating for patient and family rights
Qualifications
Job Requirements:
- Completion of required education to obtain Texas Licensure as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)
- Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) with Texas Board of Nursing – OR – current home state license is required for multi-state license recognition through the Nurse Licensure Compact
- American Heart Association (AHS) or American Red Cross (ARC) BLS required
Preferred Job Requirements:
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a clinic or ambulatory care setting preferred
