Post op cardiac catheterization patients or overflow cardiac observation bed patients from the ED. 1 nurse to 3 to 4 patients BLS, ACLS Post op cardiac catheterization patients or overflow cardiac observation bed patients from the ED. Are RNs required to titrate drips? YES Common titratable &/or set rate drips-Cardizem, Heparin, Amiodarone, Lose dose Dopamine Charge Nurse/House Supervisor-House Supervisor 24/7; A RN will be assigned to charge duties. This could possibly be a traveler. Are there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios-Yes, one PCT (C.N.A) for 11 patients; however, the nurses assist with general care and unit clerk duties when indicated. RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, BiPap, etc)-C-Pap, Bi-Pap, High flow O2 Is there tele on this unit? Monitor techs? RNs read strips?-Bedside telemetry, there will not be a monitor tech when initially opening the unit. RNs are required to read strips. Shifts & Scheduling-7A to 7P or 7P to 7A Weekend Requirement-The unit will be open Monday through Friday, possibly open on Saturday 7A to 7P Holiday Requirement-Rotational Is there a call or standby requirement?-No Floating Requirement-Floating will be required to Med-Surg units as needed Unit/Department specific orientation- First day general hospital orientation; Full day of Nursing Orientation for RNs/LPNs; Computer training (1/2 day for C.N.As, full day for nurses); Two, 12 hour orientation shifts with a preceptor; Will receive an abbreviated Initial Skills Checklist due 90 days from start date.
