Job Description

As a SAP Liaison II, you will join a unique team of seasoned professionals focused on providing support to students in school settings who have been identified to have one or multiple barriers to learning, with the aim to reduce these barriers while also working to improve overall emotional well-being. Our SAP team works specifically with Propel Schools, a not-for-profit group of schools dedicated to transforming education to allow for all children to have access to high performing public schools. 


To qualify, a master's degree in an area of social sciences and a minimum of three years of experience in a child serving system is required. As an ideal candidate, your background will include experience as a school counselor or teacher, or behavioral health experience with school aged children and their families.


 

This is a Monday through Friday daylight position, 7:45am-3:15pm. The dress code is business casual, with weekly jeans day an option. Parking is provided on site at no cost.  



Responsibilities:


Education and Prevention:



  • Provide classroom and community education sessions.


  • Facilitate educational and support groups.


  • Consult with school personnel on SAP and student interventions.



Student Support and Intervention



  • Assess and conduct individual sessions with referred students.


  • Provide intervention referrals and crisis intervention services.



Program Development and Data Reporting:



  • Collect and record data for Allegheny County OBH reports.


  • Complete end-of-month and quarterly statistics.


  • Conduct annual/quarterly service assessments.


  • Write grant proposals for additional funding.



Relationship Building and Communication



  • Maintain effective relationships with students, school personnel, and community agencies.


  • Communicate student progress with school personnel and parents.



Leadership and Staff Development



  • Lead in Supervisor’s absence.


  • Train and mentor staff, coordinate schedules.


  • Attend staff meetings, trainings, and community/provider meetings.



  • MA/MS in social services or other human services degree WITH 3 years related experience in child serving system/SAP/prevention field.
  • 1 year of experience in SAP preferred.

    Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Comprehensive Crisis Management (CCMC)
  • Driver's License
  • Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
  • Act 33 with renewal
  • Act 34 with renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
