Job DescriptionSummary of Job:

Proficiently programs, edits, and performs complex set-ups on computer numerical controlled (CNC) machinery.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Responsible to write, create, and test CNC programs.
  • Ensure the produced CNC programs are optimized.
  • Performs adjustments to adhere to established specifications or revisions.
  • Monitor machining times and optimize it from time to time by recommending new machining techniques and methods to refine existing programs to programmers.
  • Maintain the jigs and fixture.
  • Demonstrate a full commitment to work closely with machinists, programmers, and machine shop supervisors.
  • Keep machinery and work area in a clean, safe, maintained, and organized.
  • Keep waste low, minimize scrap, use labor efficiently, and account for all parts on jobs.
  • Improve on product through-put via additional operations such as multiple machine operation, deburring, cleaning, etc. whenever possible.
  • Assist in other areas in order to meet the production needs of Essex and its customers.
  • Comply with all PPE and machine guarding as necessary with each job.


Requirements

Required Education/Experience/Certifications:

5-7 years of machine shop experience and 2-year trade school completion; or equivalent demonstrated proficiency.

Work Schedule: Essex Industries will be moving to a summer work schedule effective June 3, 2024- August 30, 2024. Work hours will be Monday- Thursday, 10 hours per day with Friday off or reserved for any overtime if required. Normal Work hours will be 6AM-4:30PM CST - Monday to Thursday, Friday- Off.
