Job Summary:
Trane is hiring an Intelligent Services Account Engineer to join our team in Willowbrook, Illinois. The Intelligent Services Account Engineer functions as a core member of the Trane Digital Services Team, playing a key role in identification, and quantification of energy conservation measures, equipment optimization opportunities and facility operating savings measures employed as part of a project or service solution. The Account Engineer is part of the Controls maintenance service team and requires strong knowledge base in commercial HVAC systems and controls. This position is responsible for assisting in data collection and analysis to support Trane’s service maintenance and revenue goals. The Account Engineer will collect, analyze, benchmark, and develop summary reports as necessary to illustrate the pertinent details of building and/or system performance. You will increase the Intelligent Services agreement contract base, and pull through business from these agreements, as well as leverage energy and control system data to help customers meet their Key Performance Indicator targets and lower utility costs, all while helping Trane meet its mission of reducing the energy intensity of the world.
This role has been designated as Hybrid – Flex for your day. While most work must be done on-site, there is flexibility to work remotely when workflow and priorities allow.*The Company reserves the right to modify this designation should business needs require.
This role does not offer a relocation package.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for analyzing building and energy data to identify meaningful outcomes. Account Engineer creates consultative documentation to provide to the customer.
- Provide continuous commissioning analysis for Intelligent Services customers utilizing data analytics findings, and knowledge of facility equipment (HVAC, Chillers, Boilers, etc.), sequence of operations, and expected condition behaviors.
- Coordinate and manage existing building Monitoring-Based Commissioning (MBCx) projects.
- Facilitate integrating Trane’s Fault Detection & Diagnostic (FDD) tool, manage equipment mapping and setup for data collection, set up and manage analytics within the software platform at the beginning of the project.
- Visit the jobsite to regularly meet with customers and present data analyses findings, energy savings opportunities and work with them through implementation.
- Prepare and perform energy audits, ECM calculations and MBCx reports. Determine and identify top maintenance and energy savings actions by looking at fault detections.
- Lead monthly customer communication with assigned customers to discuss site stability, re-configuration modifications, and FDD application functionality, results, priorities, and the value of the system.
- Ability to clearly and accurately create customer documentation of analysis recommendations and Commissioning Reports.
- Interact with the Sales and Commercial teams to provide pre-sales technical support for customer engagements.
- Work with Engineering to validate analytics logic, make recommendations for changes in the analytics, and identify new analytic opportunities.
- Work directly with Customers and Support team to diagnose and correct customer application, deployment, and connectivity issues.
- Organize and deliver information to field technicians as required
- Responsible to lead quarterly or semiannual Technical Strategy Review meetings for each Connected Service Agreement customer.
- Fulfill Digital Services contract obligations effectively, efficiently and within safety standards.
- Gather and validate preliminary information and perform facility walkthrough, construction plan review or other requirements.
- Collaborates with account managers and field technicians to assist in growing sales for Service Agreements, Service Quoted, Turnkey, and Controls sales.
- Will plan and schedule work as needed with the Project Administrator service team.
- Travel to customer job sites is required, which may include outdoor work and/or work in mechanical/equipment rooms. During the site visits, the employee may be exposed to variable weather conditions; moving mechanical parts; heights, and other variable environmental conditions based on location.
Additional responsibilities may include:
- Deployment, including FDD Software Configuration of equipment data and analytics
- BMS / BAS Configuration and Data Export
- Work directly with customer on-boarding team to assure connection and deployment is the best customer experience and satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology, or equivalent from four-year college or university preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
5 or more years of experience in energy auditing, with experience leading multiple project.
- Strong familiarity with the operation of energy management systems, building automation systems, HVAC Systems and/or temperature controls required.
- Experience in effectively understanding and manipulation of technical information and responding to questions from fellow team members or customers.
- Experience collecting data, analyzing and presenting data in a clear and accurate manor.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations included, but not limited to:
- DUI, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless/Careless Driving or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years.
