Salary: $22-$25/hr

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transport Crops: Safely operate a CDL A vehicle to transport harvested crops from fields to designated storage or processing facilities.
  • Equipment Operation: Ensure the proper handling and operation of all transport equipment, including trailers, tarps, and other associated machinery.
  • Loading/Unloading: Assist with the loading and unloading of crops, ensuring that all safety protocols are followed.
  • Maintenance: Perform routine inspections and maintenance on vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition. Report any issues or needed repairs promptly.
  • Compliance: Adhere to all DOT regulations and company safety policies, including hours of service, load securement, and vehicle inspections.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate logs of all trips, including mileage, fuel usage, and any incidents that occur during transport.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with farm managers and other team members to ensure efficient and timely transport of crops.

Qualifications:

  • CDL A License: Must have a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License.
  • Experience: A minimum of 1 year of experience as a CDL A driver, preferably in an agricultural setting.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with local and state transportation laws and regulations.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50lbs), stand for long periods, and work in various weather conditions.
  • Availability: Willingness to work extended hours, including weekends and holidays, during the harvest season.
  • Safety-Oriented: Strong commitment to safety practices and regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience driving in rural or off-road conditions.
  • Previous experience with crop transport or working in a farm environment.
  • Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance.
