Position Purpose:

Stoneside Veterinary Hospital is expanding our DVM team We are a well-established, successful, small animal and exotic GP that joins just around 10% of hospitals in AAHA accreditation.

Our practice is family oriented and prioritizes a fun and friendly environment at all times. We have a tenured team and would be a wonderful career opportunity for DVMs of all experience levels. For any new graduates, our doctors would love to provide any needed guidance alongside a thorough, mapped out mentorship program.

We have a beautiful and updated facility with all the equipment that is needed to practice modern medicine. We emphasize flexible schedule, work-life-balance, and provide extensive benefits.
Our practice hours are 8 AM to 5 PM Monday-Friday and we are closed on weekends

About the area: Waller, TX is a rural town located just northwest of Houston. There is a strong community spirit and wide range of experiences/events held that continuously bring everyone together year-round. Events like the Waller Freedom Fest, Waller Christmas Festival, Waller County Rodeo, and Juneteeth Festival are great displays of parades, live music, fireworks, community tournaments, and the fun-loving nature of the town. For even more activity there is tons of recreation opportunity at the local parks, sport fields, and walking trails. Here you will also get your fill of local dining, shops, and other small business.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine the nature of disease or injuries.
  • Operate diagnostic equipment and collect diagnostic samples as well as interpret results.
  • Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options.
  • Perform surgery and prescribe medication as needed.
  • Provide counsel around pet end of life care.
  • Maintain patients’ medical records.
  • Ensures compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statues, policies, and procedures.
Requirements/Qualifications:
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an accredited AVMA institution.
  • Appropriate state licensure.
  • Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates professional and courteous presentation consistently with staff and clients.
  • Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance.
