Psychiatrist (BD-114-01)

Adelphi is seeking a Psychiatrist to provide locum tenens coverage at a facility located in Petersburg, VA. The ideal candidate should have experience working with an acute adult inpatient population. The candidate should also be able to conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and forensic evaluations for competency restoration.

*Requirements:*
• Active VA license
• BC/BE in Psychiatry
• BLS/ACLS Certification
• Have DEA Certificate
• Have proficiency in EHR (Cerner Millenium) documentation

*Responsibilities:*
• Make specific recommendations for further evaluation, medication, psychological services, environmental
change, and/or hospitalization.
• Make provisional recommendations for treatment, specifying conditions; and for medications, specifying
type(s) of medication(s) and dosage(s).
• Be willing to provide cross coverage to other units, if needed.
• Be responsible for involuntary commitment hearings and court-related activities as necessary, in consultation
with the facility.
• Confer with the facility psychological, medical, counseling, and security staff during a time not used in
evaluation and treatment of individuals
• Have the ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary treatment team.
