Job Title: Director of Quality Assurance

Location: Norfolk, Nebraska

Salary: Depending on Experience

Job Summary: The Director of Quality Assurance is responsible for ensuring product safety, quality, and compliance at the manufacturing plant in Norfolk, NE. This includes developing and implementing a comprehensive quality system, ensuring compliance with specifications, training and developing operators, conducting quality testing, managing labeling, handling complaints, and communicating with sales and plant staff regarding quality program trends, issues, and opportunities.

Qualifications:

Implement and monitor the Quality Assurance Program at the facility according to established policies and procedures.
Establish quality assurance specifications for finished products, in-process testing, and ingredients, and ensure compliance with these specifications.
Establish quality specifications for incoming raw materials with Purchasing and monitor their compliance.
Recruit, direct, coach, lead, and supervise all QA personnel.
Prepare and manage the laboratory budget, identifying opportunities to reduce costs and improve margins.
Research and provide analytical results on customer complaints promptly.
Assist in establishing procedures and supervising product and process development and test runs, reporting all results.
Manage inventory of off-spec materials, including scheduling and reworking products as needed.
Conduct internal, vendor, and contract manufacturing audits as required.
Maintain and improve the quality assurance lab data system reports.
Ensure compliance with company, state, federal, and international safety and regulatory policies and practices.
Coordinate pest control services.

Responsibilities:

Minimum of 7 years of experience in manufacturing QA management.
Prior experience in the dairy industry and familiarity with PMO (Pasteurized Milk Ordinance) is required.
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Life Science or a related field.
Strong knowledge of laboratory testing procedures and computer software applications.
Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
Previous supervisory experience.
