We are seeking a skilled GIS Analyst to join our team. The GIS Analyst will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting geographic information to create maps and support various projects across the organization. The ideal candidate should have strong technical skills in GIS software, data analysis, and a good understanding of geospatial concepts.

*Key Responsibilities:*
* Collect, compile, and analyze geographic data from various sources such as satellite imagery, aerial photographs, surveys, and GPS data.
* Create and maintain GIS databases, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
* Develop and produce maps, charts, and visualizations to support decision-making processes.
* Perform spatial analysis, including proximity analysis, network analysis, and spatial modeling.
* Collaborate with other departments to integrate GIS data into their workflows and projects.
* Conduct quality assurance and quality control checks on GIS data and maps.
* Stay updated with advancements in GIS technology and implement best practices.

*Qualifications:*
* Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, Environmental Science, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
* Proficiency in GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar tools.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
* Experience with data manipulation, geodatabase management, and spatial analysis techniques.
* Knowledge of cartography principles and map design.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Experience with programming languages such as Python or R is a plus.

*Additional Requirements:*
* Previous experience in GIS analysis or a related role is preferred.
* Certification in GIS (e.g., Esri Technical Certification) is a plus.
* Familiarity with environmental or urban planning concepts is beneficial.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $23.00 per hour
