Job Title: Credit Manager

Role Summary:

As the Credit Manager you will play a crucial role in ensuring timely payments and credit risk management processes for an industrial company (business to business). The majority of our clientele resides within the U.S. and Canada, with established long-term relationships characterized by timely payments. To be clear, this is not a collections management job. However, when discrepancies arise, your expertise will be vital in navigating the credit investigation akin to forensic accounting and building processes for the Credit Analyst.

Beyond managing credit operations, you'll cultivate strong relationships with key customers' Credit Managers, utilizing both digital communication and traditional phone calls to ensure effective collaboration.

This position also entails leadership responsibilities, overseeing a team of 2 to 3 credit analysts. As a pivotal member of our over 30-year-old private company, we seek an individual with a proven track record in credit management, capable of both managerial duties and hands-on interaction with national customers and internal stakeholders. Your ability to balance strategic oversight with tactical execution will be instrumental in our continued growth and success.

Credit Manager Job Responsibilities:

Implementing effective credit policy and delivery processes that meet both customer needs and the organization’s credit administration and operational goals.
Decision accountability regarding the extension, structuring, servicing and collection of credit within the group.
Develop and manage metrics to control points to flag areas of concern and report on progress and improvement of cash flow.
Manage the relationship with our Credit Insurance (Allianz) broker including annual renewal reporting.
Closely work with our Accounting Department and develop a mutual partnership.
Manage credit tools such as Insurance, Letters of Credit and or Credit Cards to ensure timely payments.
Ensure that we manage and maintain the proper Customer information such as Credit Applications and certificates to comply with state or local laws as well as maintaining the data needed to comply with our credit insurance requirements.
Ensure the timely completion and approval of new Customer Credit Applications.
Lead a group of 2 to 3 credit analysts who are responsible for decision making on customer limits, risk assessments and collecting past due payments.
Identify opportunities to improve automation and efficiency through policy, procedure, process and systems.

Qualifications/Desired Characteristics:

Minimum ten years of increasing responsibility in Credit, Accounting or Finance in a business to business or industrial environment. This is not consumer credit or a collections agency role.
3+ years of experience managing a small team within a Credit, Accounting or Finance environment.
Strong communication and relationship building skills.
International credit experience within Latin and South America a plus.
Knowledge of ERP-Business systems software and associated reporting.
Applicable NACM certifications or licensing.
Bachelor's degree or relevant experience in Accounting, Business, Economics, or Masters a plus.
Experience with LEAN / Six Sigma a plus.
Strong prioritizing, analytical, presentation, project management & planning skills
Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite with an emphasis on Excel

Requirements:

Candidates must be 18 years or older with the ability to understand and adhere to all job requirement and safety guidelines.
Previous Wire & Cable experience is a plus
