*POSITION SUMMARY:*
Crane Riggers are responsible for attaching rigging for lifting, as well as moving and positioning heavy machines, items of equipment, large structural parts, and other heavy loads to meet company and federal rules, regulations, and policies.

*ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS*:
May include but are not limited to the ability to:

· Operate hoists, forklifts, and/or hand trucks to handle heavy material and equipment.

· Support crane operator and crew in the assembly and disassembly of the cranes and equipment.

· Assembles and installs supporting structures, rigging, hoist, and pulling gear.

· Attaches load to rigging to provide support or prepare for moving using hand and power tools.

· Cleans and dresses machine and surfaces of component parts.

· Controls movements of heavy equipment through narrow openings or confined spaces.

· Dismantles, maintains, stores rigging equipment.

· Manipulates rigging lines and hoists to move or support materials, steel, concrete, etc.

· Select snatch blocks, shackles, and slings according to load size, facilities and work schedule.

· Signals or gives verbal directions to workers engaged in hoisting or lifting.

· Tests rigging to ensure safety and reliability before engaging in hoisting or lifting.

· Haul crane components and equipment to job sites and drive tractor/trailer combinations

· Complete and keep current all training and certificates as required by Borsheim Crane Service, LLC, Federal Agencies, and our Customers.

· Participate in Safety meetings and training.

· Wear common protective or safety equipment, such as safety boots, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, FR clothing and hard hat.

· Work both indoors and outdoors during all seasons/months of the year

· Report all incidents, injuries, and/or accidents immediately to supervisor or Safety Director.

· Work closely with coworkers, managers, customers, and crews; keeping a professional and safe environment for all.

· Complete all required paperwork and turn in daily.

· Promote and comply with all Company and safety policies and procedures.

· Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor as needed.

*ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:*

· Must have a valid NCCCO Rigger 1 Certification

· Must have a valid NCCCO Signalperson Certification

· Class A CDL (required) accompanied with a clean driving record (preferred)

· Must have a current DOT medical card

· Must pass a background check and pre-employment drug screen

· Must be willing and able to travel frequently, work overtime, and work weekends as needed

*KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:*

· Ability to interpret instructions and blueprints

· Identify all hand signals, weight limits, safety regulations, and operating codes that are relevant for crane operation.

· Good organizational and management skills

· Mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity

· Patience, good judgement, attention to detail

· Physical Demands:

o Vision/Sight: Able to detect, determine, perceive, identify, recognize, judge, observe, inspect, estimate, focus, and assess surroundings.

o Stand, walk, and use hands/fingers to handle or feel: To operate, activate, use, prepare, inspect, place, detect, and position equipment, tools, etc.

o Sit: Ability to sit while driving/traveling to work locations.

o Climb (equipment) and balance: Able to ascend/descend and work atop to service equipment.

o Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl: Ability to position oneself and to move freely.

o Talk and Hear: Ability to communicate, detect, converse with others, discern, convey, express oneself, and exchange information.

o Carry weight, lift: Ability to move, transport, position, put/install, and remove parts, equipment, and tools that are 70 lbs.+ continuously.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35.05 - $40.70 per hour
