Seeking client-centered Art, Music, Dance/Movement or Recreation Therapists to join our adjunctive therapy team. We have a large, multidisciplinary team of therapists and counselors who provide therapeutic programming throughout the hospital serving adults with acute psychiatric illness. The per diem therapist works as part of the adjunctive therapy team to plan and conduct a variety of evidence-based psychotherapeutic and counseling interventions that support the wellness and recovery of individuals with mental illness. Our therapists facilitate and document groups in accordance with trauma-informed and recovery-based principles. Adjunctive Therapists also facilitate individual sessions and complete assessments. Therapists create an atmosphere of warmth, caring, and unconditional positive regard.

*Compensation is $26/hour for master's level per diem staff, and $23/hour for bachelor's level staff (Music & Recreation Therapy). Scheduling is based on departmental need. Weekday, Weekend, and evening shifts are available. New graduates are encouraged to apply. *

_Job Duties:_

1. Plans and conducts a variety of evidence-based psychotherapeutic interventions that support the wellness and recovery of individuals with mental illness

2. Conducts group and individual creative arts, recreation, or verbal therapy sessions with patients with acute psychiatric illness to support their wellness and recovery

3. Observes, assesses, records and reports patient behavior and relate it to patient's progress in treatment via documentation and verbal communication

4. Completes adjunctive therapy assessments

5. Participates in adjunctive therapy performance improvement processes

6. Assists in the planning, developing, and carrying out of therapeutic and activity-based programming

7. Creates an atmosphere of warmth, caring, and unconditional positive regard toward all patients and staff

_Experience:_

1. Master’s Degree in Art Therapy, Music Therapy, Dance/Movement Therapy, or related field. Bachelor's Degree in Recreation or Music Therapy with certification.

2. Minimum of 6 months experience providing group therapy (internship applies to this experience).

3. Experience in inpatient mental health settings preferred.

Pay: $26.00 per hour
