Can you handle the heat? The Steel Bundler is a critical role in the manufacturing process of steel products. The primary responsibility of the Steel Bundler is to efficiently and safely bundle finished steel items and prepare them for storage or shipment. This position requires physical strength, attention to detail, and adherence to safety protocols to ensure the smooth flow of operations in the production facility

Responsibilities

1. Bundle Preparation: The Steel Bundler is responsible for accurately assessing the dimensions and specifications of finished steel items. They will be required to sort and arrange the items according to size, shape, and other relevant criteria to create tight and secure bundles.

2. Packaging and Wrapping: The bundler must ensure that each bundle of steel products is properly packaged and wrapped with appropriate materials to prevent damage during handling, transportation, and storage. This may involve using strapping, stretch wrap, or other packaging materials.

3. Quality Inspection: The Steel Bundler will conduct visual inspections of the items, checking for any defects, damages, or imperfections. They must promptly report any quality issues to the supervisor or quality control department.

4. Safety Compliance: Safety is a top priority in the manufacturing facility. The bundler must strictly adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety glasses, and steel-toed boots. They should also maintain a clean and organized work area to minimize hazards.

5. Material Handling: Safely and efficiently move bundles of steel products using forklifts, cranes, or other material handling equipment. Proper operation and maintenance of these machines are essential to ensure smooth production processes.

6. Inventory Management: The bundler will be responsible for accurately recording the number and type of steel items bundled, ensuring proper documentation and inventory control.

7. Team Collaboration: The Steel Bundler will work closely with other team members, including machine operators, inspectors, and supervisors, to ensure a seamless production process and timely completion of orders.

8. Equipment Maintenance: Assist in the maintenance and cleanliness of the bundling equipment, reporting any malfunctions or repairs needed to the maintenance team.

Qualifications and Skills

High school diploma or equivalent.

Previous experience in a manufacturing or warehouse setting is an advantage.

Familiarity with bundling and packaging techniques is beneficial.

Ability to read and interpret work orders and production schedules.

Physical strength and stamina to lift, carry, and handle steel items of varying sizes and weights.

Basic mathematical skills for measurement and quantity calculations.

Forklift operation experience is preferred.

Attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in recording and documentation.

Strong commitment to workplace safety and adherence to safety guidelines.
