*Requirements:*

• Bachelor's Degree in Special Education from an accredited institution

• Current New Mexico Public Education Department license

*Responsibilities:*

• Conduct regular assessments to evaluate the learning progress of students with disabilities using state or district mandated tests.

• Assist in developing Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals and objectives based on assessment results.

• Make recommendations for specialized education services as required.

• Collaborate with diagnosticians, general education teachers, students, and parents to determine appropriate test administration procedures.

• Serve as a liaison with external agencies for vocational assessment, if necessary.

• Assist in identifying and obtaining classroom equipment and materials necessary for students with disabilities.

• Develop and implement programs tailored to the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students with disabilities, while adhering to State Department of Education Standards.

• Support social integration and interaction among students with disabilities and their peers.

• Provide information to teachers, staff, and families regarding individual student needs, methodologies, and strategies.

• Supervise assigned classroom Educational Assistants.

• Generate and distribute progress reports according to school policy, and conduct parent conferences as necessary.

• Prepare paperwork for and attend IEP meetings.

• Serve as a bridge between the school district and the community by providing information about the district's offerings.

• Inform parents and students about recreational and summer programs, and assist with application procedures.

• Maintain a reference library and stay informed about current research, development, and technology in the field of special education

• Ensure confidentiality of privileged information at all times.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $45.00 - $50.00 per hour
