We are currently looking for COURTHOUSE SECURITY OFFICERS IN ASPEN, COLORADO.

PAY INFORMATION
$26.00 per hour
Non-exempt position (eligible for overtime when applicable under state law)

LOCATION
The town of Aspen was constructed in the 1870s, so the history adds to its charm. The opera house is one of the oldest buildings in town. Aspen remains a popular tourist destination, with outdoor recreation in the surrounding White River National Forest serving as a summertime counterpart to the city's four ski areas.

THE POSITION
This Security position will provide security and safety of judges, court staff, and visitors. This position will be enforcing security procedures throughout the site and may perform security duties in potentially high-risk situations in guarding the safety of court personnel. Our Security Officers and Guards must legally possess a firearm (WE WILL TRAIN) and additional certifications are highly valued, such as a baton permit, pepper spray permit, and CPR certification. It is important that this position must be able to collaborate with the other members of our team to limit any potential risks. Essential Job Functions
Provide an armed security presence at our client's site to detect and deter all possible threats.
Visibly watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
Physically patrol and monitor the court facilities (both interior and exterior) including courtrooms, staff areas, public areas, etc. and respond to requests for security services to take appropriate action.
Address any disturbances, hazards, or escalation issues in the court facility.
Sound alarms or call the police or fire department in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons.
Provide customer service to our client by carrying out safety and security procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
Participate in the court emergency response team to assist with the established disaster/emergency response procedures.
Operate screening equipment as required, such as: x-ray machines, walk-through metal detectors, hand wands, etc.
Conduct physical searches of items presented for screening as required.
Respond to and submit reports on all security incidents.
Perform additional tasks, related duties, projects, and special assignments as assigned by the reporting manager or client.
Qualification Requirements
Provide credible references and I-9 Employment Eligibility Documentation (legal eligibility to work in the U.S.).
Must have a high school diploma or GED.
Ability to perform job tasks in an extremely professional manner in a customer service driven industry.
Reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language.
Ability to pass a drug screen and a background check.
Ability to stand and walk for several hours per shift.
Reliable transportation and proximity to site(s).
Basic computer skills.
Positive attitude.
Punctuality, never late.
Must own a smartphone for scheduling and clocking in / out.
Experience in CPR, first aid, firefighting and crowd control is preferred, but not required.
Previous security or law enforcement experience preferred, but not required.
