The continuous improvement (CI) senior manager is an expert at leveraging tools from Lean and Six Sigma to scope and implement improvements across varying business functions. The CI senior manager is experienced in recognizing business opportunity to improve efficiency, lower costs or otherwise improve operating policies and procedures or customer experience. Once opportunity is identified (or assigned by the Director of Continuous Improvement), the CI senior manager identifies and leads a cross-functional team through the implementation of improvements that drive business results. Utilization of the Six Sigma DMAIC process, Lean methodology and general project management skills are required, depending on the problem set.

The CI senior manager is also responsible for administering Lean training – this accounts for less than 10% of workload for this role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identify process improvement opportunities that provide monetary savings, improved customer experience or other value add
  • Leads cross-functional teams in generating solutions to address complex problems utilizing Lean and Six Sigma methodologies
  • Leads and manages all aspects of process improvement projects including, but not limited to, cost/benefit analysis, process analysis, data analysis, solutioning, implementation and confirming results
  • Overall project/improvement administration, including planning, instructing, and controlling resources
  • Establishes strong collaborative relationships with both internal and external partners
  • Develops and delivers presentations to leadership to communicate proposals, initiative progress and results
  • Administer Lean training as needed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required: STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) degree preferred
  • Six Sigma Black Belt certification required. Six Sigma Master Black Belt certification preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of experience facilitating complex improvement projects, including DMAIC projects.
  • Lean certification and experience using Lean tools is preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Office Applications: Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Visio
  • Occasional (0-10%) travel required
