Overview:

  • Prepares patient for visit with provider by completing Advanced Standard room process including entering the chief complaint; taking patient vital signs; reviewing patient history and allergies; completing a thorough medication reconciliation; working the Encounter Guide including helping to close any open care gaps such as fall risk, depression screening, breast cancer screening, colorectal cancer screening, and diabetic eye exams; rechecking elevated blood pressures; and completing needed documentation in Epic for yearly preventative visits as needed.
  • Assists with any needed in-office testing including, but not limited to, drawing blood, completing mental status exams, EKG’s, walking oxygen studies and point of care testing.
  • Administer vaccines and other injections within scope of practice.
  • Schedules follow up appointments when needed per office policy.
  • Collaborates with providers and clinical care team to monitor and coordinate delivery of the care plan.

Medical Assistant:
Education:
High School Diploma or GED.
Certification: Must obtain BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
Preferred Experience:
6 months of clinical healthcare experience, preferably in a primary care office.

Certified Medical Assistant:
Education: High School Diploma or GED.
Certification: Must have active Medical Assistant certification/registration (RMA, CCMA, CMA). Must obtain BLS certification within 90 days of hire

 

LPN:

  • Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent

  • Licensure: Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program; Consideration will be given for comparable education experience and successful licensure. Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining a current LPN license within the hiring state in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all State Board of Nursing requirements

  • Physical Requirements/Demands: Stand/Walk most of the time on duty; significant amount of bending and stooping, as well as lifting and turning patients with assistance; push/pull/grip up to 50 pounds

  • Experience: Can be new or experienced LPN

  • Certifications:- Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire- LPN-IV Certification must be previously completed or successful completion of course within 3 months of hire (range from upon hire to within 1 year) NOTE:one or more of the certifications below may be required based on the position/unit hired to, or acquisition of certification within department required timeframe:- - ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)- PEARS (Pediatric Assessment Recognition and Stabilization)- S.T.A.B.L.E. (Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood Pressure, Lab Work, And Emotional Support) Six Assessment & Care Modules- Other unit specific certifications as required
