This team serves the data and analytics needs of the Personal Investor business. Personal investor serves Vanguard's clients including high net worth, advisor clients, and small businesses—by providing advice, brokerage, and annuity products and services. As a Senior Technical Project Manager, you will lead this team through a critical multi-year technology portfolio modernization journey.

In this role, you will:

  • Manage all data and analytics workstreams for our Modernization program. Ensure that the scope of the projects within the broader transformation or program align with business priorities and that business value is properly measured for prioritization.

  • Develop and maintain broad knowledge and awareness of Financial Services industry forces, competition, and trends to assess viability of approaches and strategies to technology-related programs. Monitor financial, legal, and other regulatory environments to ensure strategies are aligned with the overall company strategy and market conditions.

  • Communicate with stakeholders, leaders, team members, management, and department partners to ensure that requirements and priorities are understood. Monitor project progress and results and submits regular status reports to management and internal and external stakeholders. Ensure the development and execution of change management and communication plans.

  • Build and maintain relationships across program stakeholders and proactively foster effective communication between internal and external parties. Drive key decisions to ensure alignment with overarching goals across stakeholders.

  • Ensure all steps are taken to mitigate risk and maintain control, compliance, audit, and legal requirements on technology projects. Maintain an appropriate level of technical and business knowledge to support program implementation.

  • Take a data-driven approach to prioritize work and guide decision making. Supplement data with logical intrinsic knowledge. Demonstrate ability to gather data efficiently and extract necessary information to back up or refute an option.

  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.

What it takes:

  • Minimum of eight years related business experience. Minimum of four years of technical project management experience required.

  • Undergraduate degree in related field (Computer Science, Engineering) required. Graduate degree preferred.

  • Strong understanding of the technical aspects of software development and business and data understanding.

  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Experience with AWS technologies is desired or good to have

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deliver results to meet timeline.
