Job Summary: Palisades Tahoe is looking for Kids Ski Instructors of all experience levels to provide safe, enjoyable, and effective group ski lessons for kids while delivering exceptional guest service.

Applicants must be 18 years of age.

Hourly:

The base hourly pay range below shows the minimum and maximum pay for this position at Palisades Tahoe Resort, LLC. Actual pay may vary based on factors like experience, education, training, location, merit, performance, responsibilities, and travel. This range is part of the total compensation package, which also includes incentives and various regional benefits.

Base hourly pay range: $18.68 - $39.10 per hour

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Provides exceptional guest service while maintaining an environment of safety, fun, and learning.
  • Instructs and educates guest ages 3-13 in skiing and/or snowboarding in group or private lessons. May also instruct adults.
  • Clarify customer's expectations and goals at the beginning of each lesson.
  • Participates in skiing/Snowboarding clinics to keep current with the most modern and efficient teaching methods and techniques.
  • Helps with set up/tear down of beginner area as well as light cleaning of Children's Center.
  • Assists in the rental shop by fitting children with ski equipment.


Competencies and Requirements:
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong customer service and safety awareness.
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions.
  • Neat and clean appearance as per grooming standards.
  • Punctuality and ability to work well in a team.


Education and Experience:
  • Preferred: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Preferred certifications: PSIA or AASI, Children's Accreditation.
  • Experience teaching sports to children aged 3-13.
  • Background in recreation, education, or child development.
  • Customer service experience in a resort setting.


Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand, walk, talk, see, hear, and ski for extended periods.
  • Capable of occasionally lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 50 lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required, including close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.


Working Conditions:

Indoor/Outdoor: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will continuously be exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee will frequently be exposed to extreme cold, wetness and/or humidity, and occasionally blizzards and extreme storm conditions.

Hazardous Materials/Noise: The noise level in the work place is usually moderate.
