The Collateral Analyst position ensures clear, bankable collateral loan documents are delivered timely to the warehouse bank/custodian according to warehouse and investor guidelines.   

As closed mortgage loan files are delivered daily and scanned into the system, the auditor would then validate the imaged collateral documents and other loan data using the department checklist to determine accuracy as well as completeness.   This individual would be required to identify and correct any issues, as instructed by the title company and/or county officials, to prevent denial by the warehouse banks and investors.

This position would also require occasional overtime to meet high volume demands and deadlines.  It would involve working and communicating closely with individuals from the origination teams, title companies and warehouse vendors.

The ideal Collateral Auditor candidate should possess the following qualities/skills:

  • Knowledge of mortgage terminology and documents
  • Strong organizational and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to work in a highly repetitive job function at a fast pace, without sacrificing quality
  • Strong attention to detail and cognitive skills
  • Experience with Encompass operating system, a plus.
  • Loan Closing (Closer) background experience, a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of warehouse lending, a plus.
