Christiana Care Hospital is currently looking to hire a Surgical Scheduler to support Structural Heart and Aortic Health procedural services for the Heart & Vascular Center.

The scheduling coordinator’s primary responsibilities will be to schedule pre-operative, post-operative and invasive procedures for patients undergoing structural heart and aortic health procedures at Christiana Care.  This resource will work in collaboration with the structural heart team coordinators, cardiac surgery and vascular surgery and providers as well as primary service areas to optimize the patient experience, assuring the availability and proper utilization of resources and approvals including time, equipment, and personnel.  They will also optimize patient flow from referral to procedure to include coordination of pre-operative testing and procedures and partnering with referring offices to ensure accurate and complete medical history and records are obtained prior to patient evaluation.

The Structural Heart Disease Program at ChristianaCare was formed in 2011 as the first Structural Heart team in the state of Delaware to provide innovative and minimally invasive treatment options to complex cardiovascular patients. Our program features a multidisciplinary heart team approach, with physicians from different specialties bringing together their expertise to deliver patient outcomes that are consistently above the national average. Our structural heart team is comprised of interventional cardiologists, electrophysiologists, noninvasive cardiologists and cardiac surgeons and dedicated nurse coordinators, who are here to help guide patients through the evaluation process.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

High school graduate.

Minimum of 2 years related medical office experience with knowledge of surgical scheduling for multiple providers.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.

Work Schedule

  • Full time – 80 hours, Day Shift Only, Monday through Friday, no holidays, no weekends
  • Shift   Start Time:  7:00/7:30am – 3:30/4:00pm
  • Office location is on site at ChristianaCare – Newark Campus
