Our ASE certified technicians will be happy to help you on a wide range of services including alignments, brake repair, oil changes, batteries, shocks and struts, belts and hoses, and air conditioning  The Jr. Automotive Technician is responsible for conducting basic automotive diagnostic and repair such as oil changes, tire and wheel related services and light vehicle maintenance. They are also responsible for effectively repairing customer vehicles while adhering to the MAP guidelines and in accordance with dealership, manufacturers, and Sun Auto Tire & Service standards. Pay: up to $18.00 per hour plus flag hours  Benefits:Closed SundaysCompetitive Bi-Weekly PayTuition ReimbursementPaid Vacation and Sick Time6 Paid HolidaysMedical, Dental and Vision Insurance Life Insurance (Company paid)401(k) Retirement Savings Plan with Company MatchDiscounted Services on Personal and Immediate Family VehiclesOpportunity for Advancement Principal Duties and Responsibilities:Performs basic mechanical repairs based on level of experiencePerforms tire mounting/dismounting, wheel balance and tire rotation.Performs oil changes, fluid changes and power flushes and other basic services.Utilizes the company’s Multi-point Inspection and/or Repair Order to properly document the vehicle conditionConducts State Safety and Emission Inspections (in applicable locations) on vehicles in an ethical manner following all company and state guidelinesFollows all safety procedures and reports any concerns to direct supervisorAbility to work flexible schedules, including weekends as needed. Other duties as assigned by direct supervisorAdheres to Sun Auto’s core values, and all company policies and procedures as outlined in the Sun Auto Tire & Service Employee HandbookQualifications:Previous automotive technician / mechanic experience preferredMust be at least 18 years of ageAbility to demonstrate proper use of computerized equipment for diagnosticsValid Driver’s license Ability to obtain a State Inspector License (in applicable locations) is preferredHigh School Diploma or equivalent preferredWorking Conditions and Physical Demands:The Junior Automotive Technician will be exposed to moderate to loud noises, dust, exhaust fumes, lubricants, petroleum products, vapors, caustic materials, and other hazardous and non-hazardous materials. The temperature in the work environment varies and could include extreme heat and/or extreme cold depending on the ambient temperatures outside.
