Job Summary:
The Hardlines Lead is responsible for overseeing the hardlines department, which includes non-apparel items such as electronics, household goods, hardware and furniture. They ensure the efficient operation of the department, maintain shopability and provide exceptional customer service.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Ensure that the hardlines department is properly organized, and visually appealing by following merchandising and display standards.
- Ensure Department is clean, recovered and well maintained as the code W policy states.
- Follow our lettered program as directed.
- Ensuring when new product arrives it is stocked and presented to merchandising standards within 24 hours.
- Train, mentor, and coach associates on product knowledge, merchandising, and customer service skills.
- Maintain the hardline department's inventory, including stock replenishment, organization, and cleanliness.
- Follow merchandising standards to ensure the department is visually appealing and easy to navigate for customers.
- Collaborate with the store management team to execute sales promotions, marketing initiatives, and special events to drive traffic and increase sales in the hardlines department.
- Follow company policies and procedures regarding customer service, sales, safety, and security within the department.
- Frequently check expiration dates on consumable items to ensure safety.
- Fulfill any other tasks assigned by the store manager.
Requirements
Skills/Qualifications:
- Previous hardlines experience in a retail environment.
- Strong communication skills.
- Excellent customer service skills and a passion for providing exceptional customer experiences.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications and point-of-sale systems.
- High school diploma , GED or equivalent work experience.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended hours, up to entire shift
- Frequently lift items over 50 pounds
- Background check required
