We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Labor & Delivery RN to join our dynamic healthcare team. This is a permanent, full-time position where you will be working in a fast-paced, state-of-the-art Labor & Delivery unit. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team committed to providing the highest quality care to our patients during one of the most significant events in their lives.
Responsibilities:
As a Labor & Delivery RN, your primary responsibilities will include:
1. Providing direct patient care to mothers and babies during labor, childbirth, and the immediate postpartum period.
2. Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans in consultation with healthcare professionals.
3. Monitoring the fetal heartbeat, the mother's vital signs, and the progression of labor.
4. Assisting with the induction of labor and the administration of epidurals and other pain management techniques.
5. Assisting in the delivery of babies, including both normal and cesarean deliveries.
6. Providing education and support to mothers and families regarding labor, delivery, breastfeeding, and newborn care.
7. Responding to emergency situations, such as fetal distress, maternal hemorrhage, or preterm labor.
8. Documenting all patient care accurately and completely.
9. Collaborating with the healthcare team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
10. Maintaining a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, you must possess the following qualifications:
1. An active RN license in good standing, preferably a CA license.
2. A minimum of 1 year of experience as a Labor & Delivery RN.
3. Proficiency in Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM).
4. BLS and ACLS certification from the American Heart Association.
5. NRP certification is preferred.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
7. The ability to work effectively in a team and make decisions quickly during emergencies.
8. The ability to handle the physical and emotional demands of the job, including dealing with stressful situations.
9. A commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
10. A passion for providing high-quality patient care and a commitment to patient safety.
