Every day we continue to embed diversity, inclusion, belonging, and equity in everything we do as we provide service to survivors of domestic and sexual violence.QualificationsThe Requirements We are Seeking:Education: Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Criminal Justice, Sociology, Psychology, Public Health, or Counseling.Experience: A minimum of one year of experience working within advocacy, case management, working with survivors of domestic and sexual assault, or similar in social service setting working with clients from diverse backgrounds (internships and volunteer work will be considered as experience).Language: Is able to read, speak, and write both English and Spanish fluently, preferred.Computer Skills: Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams).Computer savvy and able to learn new applications and systems quickly.Strong data-entry skills.Certificates & Licenses: Texas driver's license with a safe driving record; reliable transportation; ability to travel to off-site locations utilizing personal transportation, if applicableWhat you Deliver in this role: You will assist clients in receiving services by telephone and in person.You will conduct intake assessments for sexual violence survivors referred to the Behavioral Health and Wellbeing Program that help assess the client's needs, gather relevant information about their cases, and provide crisis intervention.You will enroll clients into individual/group counseling services with licensed counselors from the Behavioral Health and Wellbeing program.You will contact and make referrals to other internal and external stakeholders for additional services.You will maintain accurate records and appropriate documentation of services.You will participate in training, supervision, and meetings.You will work cooperatively with other staff to ensure optimal utilization of resources and efficient management of the program.Mandatory Reporting: report suspected and prior abuse/neglect to the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services when appropriate.You will advocate at HAWC and other agencies on behalf of adults and children.You will help break down barriers, Mobile Advocacy is required, this includes meeting the client in the community, work, or other safe places, and accompanying clients to appointments as needed.Other duties/projects may be assigned.What Skills and Assets you bring, and more: Excellent attention to detailsDemonstration of professional objectivity and appreciation for confidential informationAbility to follow instructions and to adhere to policies and proceduresAbility to prioritize tasks to meet individual and team deadlinesHas a growth mindset and is a good team playerStrong communication skills, both verbally and in writing.When you work here at HAWC you make an impact not just in the lives of the survivors and the people you help, but also make an impact in our own lives and our community.
