Job Title: Warehouse Person & Delivery Driver

 

FLSA Status: Hourly - Non-Exempt

 

Pay Range: $17 to $25

 

Work Hours: 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday, some evening and weekends required as needed.

 

Primary Job Function:

Responsible for ensuring all jobs scheduled for the next day have all material and equipment pulled. Check and put away stock orders. Maintain shop and yard in a clean and orderly fashion. Loading and unloading vans and trailers. Pickup and delivery of tools, equipment and parts as required.

 

Reports to: Shipping & Receiving Manager / Technical Project Coordinator

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Arrive on time daily
  • Insurable by company insurance carrier
  • Valid driver''s license
  • Able to clearly communicate in the English language both verbally and in writing
  • Participate in Company meetings as necessary
  • Dress in a workman like manner
  • Willingness to invest time in training seminars and classes
  • Arrive on time daily
  • Ability to fill out daily timecard accurately
  • Ability to complete mathematical calculations correctly
  • Ability to follow directions given, both verbally and in writing
  • Comply with all safety rules
  • Must have a current valid forklift license
  • Must possess basic safety knowledge of tools and surroundings including how to safely use a ladder
  • Ability to use a tape measure correctly
    Safe use of ladders
  • Be able to move 100 pounds unassisted
  • Unloading/loading of trucks
  • Unloading and stocking supplies and equipment
  • Ability to restock truck with proper level of supplies daily
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Demonstrate mechanical aptitude

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in inventory control
    Certified on Forklifts
  • Proficiency to use computer programs; particularly MS Word, Outlook and Excel
  • CDL
  • First Aid and CPR certified
  • HVAC industry knowledge

Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Yearly Duties:

  • Arrive and be ready to start work by 8:00 am
  • Assist Shipping & Receiving Manager with items necessary to dispatch crews in the morning
  • Notify Shipping & Receiving Manager of any shortages on stock items
  • Put away any deliveries, mark equipment received with job name and number, stage in appropriate area
  • Perform inventory counts
  •  Check schedules for all jobs installing tomorrow. pull material list and stage
  • Remove clutter and scrap from shop area
  • Pick up all garbage from warehouse, yard and on building grounds
  • Report status of jobs pulled at day''s end to Service Dispatch & Project Managers
  • Pull truck stock for Service. Notify Shipping &
    Receiving Manager of shortages
  • Review schedule for upcoming jobs to make certain that all material lists have been turned in for pulling and staging, notify Shipping & Receiving Manager if any are missing
  • Maintain facility in proper and safe operating condition.
  • Put away all extra materials brought back by installers the day before
  • Lock/unlock building and yard
  • Preform daily inspection of forklift
  • Maintenance/up-keep of yard and lot; mowing, snow removal, ect.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Stock metal & materials in shop as required
  • Maintain tool crib of company owned tools.
  • Generate check out lists and reconcile upon return
  • Maintain forklift, trailers and shop vehicles.

Success Factors / Job Competencies:

  • Organization - keep work areas and yard/lot clean and organized
  • Timely in work - material and tools and shipped/received in a timely manner.
  • Detailed - material and tools that are shipped and received are documented and proper paperwork is sent to service dispatch and project managers as required.
  • Procedural driven - Ensuring that company procedures are being followed

Performance Indicators:

Certain key business indicators that will measure the effectiveness of the Warehouse Person. These include the following:

  • Number of times jobs are not pulled and staged ready for installers
  • Organization of warehouse and yard
  • Accuracy of paperwork, hours & materials charged
  •  Number of installers will call because of not properly pulling materials
  • Number of times emergency stocking orders are processed for stocked inventory.

Physical demands:

  • Reaching, bending, stooping, walking, sitting, crawling, squatting.
  • Holding, carrying objects and lifting - including heavy objects such as equipment up to 100 pounds.
  • Use of tools and equipment such as hand tools and ladders including extension ladders.

 

Work environment:

  • Environment consists of extreme variations due to conditions, including but not limited to: heat, cold, wet, wind, sunlight, absence of light and other conditions deemed by worksite.
