Pramila Jayapal is the U.S. Representative for Washington’s 7th Congressional District and a national progressive leader on issues including Medicare for All, immigrant rights, working families, climate justice, and an inclusive democracy. The Pramila for Congress (PFC) campaign supports both the Congresswoman’s re-election and her broader organizing, political, and movement-building work. We are seeking an experienced Campaign Director to lead the overall electoral, political, and organizing strategy for Pramila for Congress. This role is ideal for a strategic thinker, excellent manager, and values‑driven leader with experience running complex, multi-program operations. Position Summary The Campaign Director oversees all campaign functions, including political strategy, organizing programs, budget and operations management, and staff leadership. They coordinate closely with the Congresswoman, Chief of Staff, Deputy Chief of Staff, Finance Director, and Communications team to ensure strategic alignment across the organization. This is a senior leadership role responsible for keeping the campaign on schedule, on message, and positioned for success in WA‑07 and nationally. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 8 years of campaign, political and organizing experience in increasingly senior positions, ideally on a mix of issue and electoral campaigns. This position requires travel, some weekend and evening work and is flexible in terms of location, with a preference for candidates based in Seattle, WA. Key Responsibilities Administrative & Operations Manage campaign budget planning, forecasting, and expense tracking. Oversee day‑to‑day campaign operations to ensure alignment and timely execution across all teams. Troubleshoot challenges quickly and keep the campaign on schedule and on strategy. Political Strategy & Program Leadership Lead the development and execution of the campaign’s overall political strategy, timeline, and measurable goals. Coordinate strategic planning across political, organizing, and communications programs in partnership with the Deputy Chief and Chief. Oversee field strategy, including voter contact plans, targeting, turf cuts, and data tracking. Manage political operations across: Resistance Lab program Medicare for All PAC Endorsement strategy, candidate vetting, and support Political events, travel, and relationship management Coordinate program with the communications and design teams.Coordinate with the Finance Director on call time, donor outreach, and fundraising events. Track polling, research, and analytics to inform strategic decisions. Bottom‑line execution of campaign trips, including logistics, scheduling, and program alignment. Oversee the volunteer organizing program, ensuring strong recruitment, training, mobilization, and retention. Support and help manage the Resistance Lab program. Manage the Congresswoman’s Community Aid Initiative program. Ensure programs reflect and advance the Congresswoman’s national organizing priorities. Hire and onboard campaign staff, interns, and volunteers. Digital & Creative Director Finance Director Campaign interns and volunteers Provide direct support to the Principal (the Congresswoman) and ensure her time is used effectively for campaign activities. Staff the Congresswoman at events in Seattle and across the country. Maintain consistent, strategic communication with the Congresswoman; provide analysis, recommendations, and political guidance. Digital & Creative Director Finance Director Campaign interns and volunteers Provide direct support to the Principal (the Congresswoman) and ensure her time is used effectively for campaign activities. Staff the Congresswoman at events in Seattle and across the country. Maintain consistent, strategic communication with the Congresswoman; provide analysis, recommendations, and political guidance. Qualifications 8+ years of campaign leadership experience (e.g., Campaign Manager, Political Director, Organizing Director). Demonstrated success managing staff and multi-faceted political or organizing programs. Strong understanding of progressive political landscapes, movement-building, and issue advocacy. Experience managing budgets, timelines, and high‑stakes deliverables. Excellent communicator with the ability to synthesize complex information and advise principals. Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities under pressure. Commitment to progressive values and the Congresswoman’s core issues. The salary range is $110,000-120,000, depending on experience, includes health care, dental, and vision. Location Location: The position is remote, with strong preference for candidates based in Seattle, WA; with travel up to 15%.
