We have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Systems Engineer to lead and participate in one of our SEIT Agile Development Teams working in a collaborative, iterative development environment supporting one of our premier classified programs on the Aurora, CO Campus.

What You Will Do

  • Participate and lead the SEIT ADT in full Agile processes including sprint planning, grooming, stand-ups, demos and retrospectives to ensure products integrate with the ground segment
  • Lead and perform System-level design activities
  • Participate in externally facing working groups
  • Interact with Program Leadership and Customer on program related topics
  • Conduct performance analyses, risk analyses, and trade studies
  • Work with your Team to create well written stories that are development ready and work with the team to maintain effective story point estimation
  • Support ground system development activities as well as the definition of operations concepts and procedure planning and development.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum 8+ years of prior relevant experience
  • Active Top Secret / SCI Security Clearance is required prior to start date and ability to obtain Special Access. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • Experience working in an Agile or DevOps development environment, participating or leading highly integrated team working closely with software, integration and verification teams developing and maintaining requirements, algorithm description documents and user manuals
  • Experience in Model-based System Engineering including operations concept development, system and product design, requirements management, technical risk management, interface definition and control.
  • Domain experience with Mission Management (MM) and/or Command and Control (C2)
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management and individual contributors as well as ability to identify, manage and mitigate technical risks
  • Experience working projects, and/or programs consisting of ground-related SE, SW development, and IV&V functions
  • Experience with application lifecycle management tools/platforms such as Jira, Confluence, Cameo EA or similar tools

  • Experience leading a diverse Engineering team, working in a multi-discipline environment

Location Information: This position is an onsite role at our Aurora, CO (Denver area) campus:

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
