STNA (State Tested Nursing Assistant)

Job Description

The State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) provides direct resident care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

This role is essential in maintaining the comfort, safety, and overall well-being of residents

Responsibilities
  • Provides personal care to residents, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and oral hygiene
  • Assists with resident mobility, including transferring, ambulating, and positioning
  • Measures and records vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure)
  • Reports changes in resident condition to nursing staff promptly
  • Assists with resident feeding and hydration
  • Maintains a clean and safe resident environment
  • Follows infection control procedures and practices
  • Participates in resident activities and social interactions
  • Documents resident care and observations accurately and timely
  • Adheres to all facility policies and procedures
Qualifications
  • Current, valid Ohio State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) license
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Ability to lift and transfer residents, requiring physical strength and endurance
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Compassionate and patient demeanor
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Working Conditions
  • Exposure to infectious diseases
  • Physical demands including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
  • Irregular work hours, including weekends and holidays
