Job Description SummaryThe Operation Support A - Electrician will install, repair, and maintain all electrical and Facilities mechanical systems and equipment and office services. In this role you will drive cycle time improvements, EHS actions, and design and implement necessary fixtures and tooling for manufacturing improvements.Job DescriptionDUTIES & RESPONSIBLITIESTroubleshoot & repair equipment and building electrical systems. Maintain and repair electrical components such as motors, transformers, switch gear, rectifiers, control systems, fire alarms, motor control centers, and shop machinery power feeds.Run conduit, replace fuses, make new electrical gear installations, troubleshoot circuitry.Perform office electrical maintenance, light trimming, & new installations.Work with schematics and wiring diagrams, order material.Follow all applicable site electrical codes and policies and develop job plans and schematics when necessary.Collaborate with site electrical authorities on repairs and installations.Make comprehensive inspections using a variety of inspection instruments and gauges to detect malfunctions.Analyze and diagnose cause of malfunctions, failures, and repetitive manufacturing problems and recommend and implement proper corrective actions.Analyze malfunctions and execute the repair of control systems and install, maintain, or modify such systems.Perform facilities and equipment maintenance, as needed.Plan, layout, rig, move, erect, and install complex equipment and machinery, overhead cranes, etc.Keep work areas and equipment clean and operating safely.Train others, as necessaryParticipate in and own Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) initiatives and trainings as required.Utilizes appropriate PPE for all job functions, participates in job safety planning and risk assessments.Identify and implement process improvement opportunities to improve quality and product flow.Participate in lean initiatives, using 6 Sigma tools for process improvements.Identify and implement Kaizens for continuous improvement.Work at heights in scissor lifts and boom liftsOperate fork trucks for material movement and unloading of deliveries.Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies.Promote continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.Order materials and parts for job executionRequest quotes from OEM vendorsUse current CMMS work order system to process and complete job assignments.Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSA.A.S. two-year degree or equivalent in applicable field of studyORMilitary advanced training in applicable fieldORJourneyman credentials in applicable fieldDESIRED REQUIREMENTSMinimum 2 years of industry related experienceExperience in the Mechanical and Electrical fieldCertified training and equivalent experience or certificate and degree programAdditional InformationGE offers a great work environment, professional development, challenging careers, and competitive compensation.
