The Maintenance Site Manager leads a team of maintenance technicians and collaborates with other departments to optimize production efficiency, minimize downtime, and ensure that the site remains in peak operational condition.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Supervision:
- Lead and manage a team of maintenance technicians, assigning tasks and monitoring performance.
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules to ensure machinery and infrastructure remain operational.
- Provide training and mentorship to maintenance staff, ensuring skill development and adherence to safety protocols.
- Maintenance Planning & Execution:
- Develop, implement, and oversee preventative maintenance plans.
- Coordinate and prioritize repairs and maintenance tasks to minimize downtime and maintain operational efficiency.
- Ensure all equipment, machinery, and systems are functioning optimally and comply with operational and safety standards.
- Budget & Resource Management:
- Manage the maintenance budget, including labor, parts, and equipment costs.
- Oversee the procurement of maintenance supplies, tools, and replacement parts, ensuring timely availability.
- Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping of maintenance activities and inventory.
- Compliance & Safety:
- Ensure that maintenance operations comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Promote a culture of safety, conducting regular inspections and risk assessments.
- Investigate and address safety issues, ensuring that appropriate corrective actions are taken.
- Vendor & Contractor Coordination:
- Coordinate with external vendors, contractors, and service providers for specialized maintenance and repairs.
- Review and approve contractor work, ensuring it meets quality and safety standards.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for improving maintenance processes and reducing costs.
- Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance equipment reliability and overall site efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field (preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in maintenance management, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
- Proven experience leading a maintenance team or department.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Familiarity with maintenance management systems (CMMS) and scheduling tools.
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to manage budgets and optimize resource allocation.
- Certifications (Preferred):
- Certified Maintenance Manager (CMM)
- OSHA Certification
- Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing certification (a plus)
