ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE SPECIALIST

OVERVIEW OF THE AR SPECIALIST ROLE:

  • Monitor accounts to identify outstanding debts.
  • AR Specialist investigates historical data for each debt or bill.
  • Find and contact clients to ask about their overdue payments.
  • Take actions to encourage timely debt payments.
  • Process payments and refunds.
  • AR Specialist resolves billing and customer credit issues.
  • Update account status records and collection efforts.
  • Report on collection activity and accounts receivable status.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR AR SPECIALIST ROLE:

  • High School Diploma is required at a minimum for the AP Specialist role.
  • Associate Degree in Finance or Business or equivalent relevant training and experience preferred.
  • 2-5 years experience in accounting, finance, collections and AR.
  • Knowledge of credit and collections procedures, billing procedures, and collection techniques.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office, Microsoft Dynamics, and databases. Knowledge of accounts receivable processes.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral). Skilled in negotiation. Problem-solving skills.
  • The AR Specialist needs patience and ability to manage stress.
  • Ability to function effectively and cooperatively as a member of a team and work independently.
