Description

In collaboration with the management team focuses on daily department operations. Supervises personnel and coordinates activities of Nursing. Performs all duties in a manner that promotes team concept and reflects the mission of philosophy of the Providence Health System. Serves as a role model for nurses, physicians, and department support staff, exhibiting the Core Values in all activities. Mentors under the Clinical Manager / Director and pursues management and leadership training within the Providence Alaska Learning Institute. May be assigned to special projects per Clinical Manager / Director consistent with strategic, fiscal, and operational goals/targets.

In collaboration with management, coordinates the team to deliver patient care in a compassionate and ethical manner according to recognized standards and care model. Functions as the clinical & operating resource with designated hours of accountability exercising independent judgment. Assists with business plans, fiscal accountability, and clinical and resource utilization. Fosters change, and teamwork. Performs clinical duties of the patient care role related to professional specialty.

Hours: Full Time (40 Hours Weekly) Variable Shift

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited/approved school of Nursing.
  • upon hire: Alaska Registered Nurse License
  • Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
  • 3 years Clinical experience.
  • 2 years Recent clinical supervisory experience or charge nurse experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (All Registered Nurses without a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing must obtain a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or higher within 30 months of hire. Exceptions will be considered on a case-by-case basis at each facility by the most senior administrative nursing leader in consultations with the Human Resource Leader.)
  • Upon hire: Certification within area of expertise or practice (Nursing Management, CCRN, CEN, etc.)
