We are hiring a Materials Planner in Robbinsville NJ. Under general supervision, plans, schedules and monitors inbound movement of materials from suppliers. Determine material requirements and coordinates the efficient movement of materials with purchasing, production and engineering.

Responsibilities:

• Procures ingredients / packaging based on specifications and production schedules.
• Issues purchase orders, processes invoicing and works with accounts payable on paying for materials.
• Manage supplier service and quality issues and secure credit as applicable.
• Monitor and manage materials to ensure aging and obsolesce is minimized through coordination with the production scheduler, R&D and suppliers.
• Analyze supplier and in house inventory levels reviewing demand and coordinating the adjustment of purchase order quantities or deliveries based on changes in plant needs.
• Works with suppliers, QA, and accounting to resolve quality issues and obtain credits for tagged materials.
• Maintains SAP Material Masters, pricing in SAP, vendors, Info Records, source list, and updates the item master for new items.
• Interacts with transportation and warehousing on in-coming deliveries, tracks each purchase order from departure to delivery, and coordinates with transportation to ensure delivery time and possible cost reductions.
• Works with 3rd party logistics groups in the storage of raw materials
• Requires interaction with corporate, vendors, plant personnel and service providers.
• Manages significant dollars of inventory.
• Advises senior leadership of risks impacting site’s ability to deliver on business priorities and works cross-functionally on strategies to mitigate risks
• Develops material strategies to prevent stock outs, optimize freight expense, and hedge against the variability in supply & demand.
• Coordinates key material testing plans alongside R&D, QA, Procurement, and Operations to support business growth & continuous improvement activities.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree or applicable work experience
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience with purchasing/procurement function
• Knowledge of SAP, strong analytical skills.
• Ability to form solutions from analytics.
• Ability to interact with vendors and other internal partners, strong communication skills, knowledge of procurement and materials management practices and principles.

Compensation and Benefits:

The base salary range for this position is $58,500 to $97,500 annually with eligibility for a 5% annual incentive bonus, that is based on organizational performance. The pay range represents the numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to education, skills, work experience, certifications, geography etc. As such, starting pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
